Once upon a time, in a galaxy.... Wait a minute. That's another story. Oh, yes. The MeasurePro. Its humble beginnings. Easy to picture. There he was (Barry) standing in his new house, not yet completed, but still lacking something the builder had not put in, yet. And, as he found out, was never going to put in, not without extra $$$. Fine. After all that house-hunting, he had seen nice cabinet hardware in the fancy kitchens of the really expensive model homes. In many cases, the cabinet hardware gave the kitchen a much more expensive look. So, why not in his house. It seemed like a simple job. Find some matching cabinet hardware at the local hardware store. He was there enough everyday, anyway. Now, the only problem was getting the cabinet hardware, the knobs and pull handles, to line up straight. In fact, that's by far the hardest part of the job. Even the man or woman who's never or rarely squeezed the trigger on a drill can figure out pretty quickly how to do it. But, to go through 40 cabinet doors, measure each one, and have them come out straight was not going to be an easy job. Strangely, there were no stores with anything to do the job. Some of the woodcraft stores had this big iron-looking contraption to line up hardware on drawers, but it looked awfully complicated and cost $68.00. OK. So, he goes and makes a plastic template. Then another one. And, after a friend borrowed it for her house, she suggested to put it on the market. Easy. No problem. I'll just carry it in and someone will take it. Right.
Yeah, sure. About 16 design changes and countless revisions to the name, packaging, boxing, shipping, and you name it, the MeasurePro was born. At first, the products were glued to a white card and displayed. In lots of places, that's how you'll find them. Now, though, there are more products and they're packaged in either a "blister" pack with a four-color front or "skinboarded" with a see-through covering. Either way, if you plan to put up cabinet hardware or install Euro-style hidden hinges, MeasurePro gives you the tools (except the drill), the instructions, and the know-how to do it. They're inexpensive and best of all, THEY WORK! Enjoy fixing up your home and e-mail me with any ideas for other products or uses for the current MeasurePro line. |
